    I have a now fairly ancient partition-managing app.

    I wish to resize partitions on an external USB drive.
    The app sees the drive OK, and accepts instructions.
    Then it insists on rebooting. I do not know why - the drive is used for backup only.
    On reboot it cannot see the USB drive, and aborts.

    Please: will Disk Director do better?

    That worked! and quickly;

    but(!) -
    when the task was finished Windows showed an error Message Box quoting:

    Instruction: 0x01110280
    Memory: 0x00000000
    could not be: written

    I have no idea of the significance of this.
    Google seems not to have heard of 0x01110280 either.

    Hello Roy,

    Please do the following in order to enable mini-dumps:

    - Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties";
    - Go to "Advanced" tab;
    - Go to "Startup" and "Recover Settings";
    - Choose "Small memory dump" in "Write debugging information" box;
    - Close all the dialog windows by clicking OK buttons.

    Now, please reproduce the system crash and collect the mini-dumps created.

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach the collected files to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread.
