Upgrading Windows 7 OEM to Windows Professional OEM

    That's understandable, but I've never had an malware issues with any of ISOs I've downloaded over the years.

    For those who are interested....
    Upgrading from a freshly installed Win7 (no upgrades) to Win10 ver 1511 (using a USB flash drive)

    From running setup.exe on the UFD to the Win10 desktop took 15:30

    Manually running Windows Update (drivers and Security updates) took another 12:00 minutes.

    Total time was 27:30

    May I ask: What's the date of the media/DVD/ISO?

    Win7... No idea. It was an image of a fresh install. It was pre SP1. Restored to the SSD for this test.

    Just wanted to let everyone know in hopes it might help someone else, I finally got my laptop updated. I found somewhere that Microsoft had put out an update, KB3138612, for this slow problem. It's not in the recommended or important updates but in the optional instead. I downloaded it and installed it and everything worked much faster and better after that. Either I was lucky or the update worked.
