Thanks for the reply. She has a complete disk image of current (dead) disk. I have decided to replace with same size disk for simplicity. Do I have to use manufactures disk to format before restoring or can I just replace dead disk with new and restore old image from external usb using the TI 8.0 cd ? TIA.

No, you do not need to partition and format the replacement disk prior to restoring a "whole disk" image. Even if you did, as part of the restore process, TI would delete the new partition(s)/format info and replace it with that of the original source disk.

    Regards
