My question is hopefully next week the upgrade roll-out will start taking place, that is moving from Nod 2.xx to Nod 3.0.

What I want to know is will Nod 3 be fine out of the box? Will the settings have to be maximized like in the 2.xx version (thanks to Blackspear). Or will it protect us just fine out of the box.

    TIA.

Everything I have seen here says it is fine right out of the box. I would bet so even more then 2.7. Some things that were not standard on setup with 2.7 seem to be with 3.0. Of course tweaking can add some more but I wouldnt fret it. Tweaking can also do more harm then good if you are not sure about what you are changing.

The settings are your choice....whether 2.5 or 2.7 or 3.0. It's just the "actions" you wish to kick in.

I'm 100% sure that someone will release a couple of different settings for you to import into the new NOD32.
So instead of going through a bunch of pages, you can just download a file, import and be done with it in a matter of seconds.

    Good times :)

Another good way: configure the whole package according your own secure settings for the first time and save/export the XML for future use.
Everybody has his own priorities, security wise.

I read from another thread, Blackspear will come out with a maximum settings.

    Thanks, Blackspear! :thumb:

    Thanks to all the insights.

I hope Blackspear will put forth his recommendations as soon as the rollout takes place. His recommendations worked well for me in the 2.xx version and I am sure they will be helpful for the 3.0 ver also.

But good to know that ver 3 will protect well out of the box too.
