Is there something special I have to do to update Webroot to the
latest version (Version 8.0.2.167 ,Released July 31st, 2013).
When I click on check for updates, it tells me I have the latest
version, My version is 8.0.2.155, Webroot SecureAnywhere.

You just have to wait until the update servers have pumped it out to you. With all the user globally this can take time. Be patient. :D

If it is Geek Squad stuff (as opposed to the box purchase), that download will possibly cause problems because Best Buy Geek Squad installs get a special build.

If it was just a regular box, you're fine.

Actually, there is very little difference in the different builds. You should not have any problems with the link TripleHelix provided. The main difference between the downloads is simply that they use different sets of key codes, the actual software is identical. (WSA-Internet Security Plus)

Webroot compiles maintains the download for the Best Buy version, and it is the exact same version as the "regular box"....

Thank you both for the additional responses.

I downloaded from the first link that Triple Helix provided and it ran with no problems. I now have the latest version. (8.0.2.167)

Thanks again for all the responses.

Keep the link handy, but if you lose it you can get it from within your Account Console (https://my.webrootanywhere.com). Simply log in, click PC Security, and then Add a PC. The pop up should have the correct download for you.

(The Account Console is smart and will give the correct links for whichever version you have.)

Interesting. Some time ago, the main difference between the two executables was primarily cosmetic and outlink based. The S2 version showed that it was a Best Buy S2 version by linking out to Best Buy for primary assistance as the folks at BB wanted it to, and by displaying S2-Specific information for the user, such as dealing with the 30-days of grace after soft expiration. Perhaps they integrated it into the main build and trigger off keycode now.

WOW! You do know your stuff on the Best Buy version! You are correct that it is adapted in terms of the in product links and help: it points to Best Buy as they provide the support and downloads. I thought I could get away without mentioning that... you caught me!

Oh. .and yes.. there is now a difference in the key codes. But again, the actual software is identical.. only cosmetics and key codes are different. :)

Cosmetics must be important though, otherwise why would so many women buy them? :)

I have to know my stuff. My scans are very fast, so it leaves a lot of time to think about things.
