I have read in the Mcafee site that a new engine is available and i want to update my cleanboot boot image so that it contains the latest one (4400). When trying to update, the prorgam is looking for a file called "cbengine.zip". I have searched the mcafee site but didn't find a file with name like this. Any help?

I have also downloaded this file but as you mentioned, cleanboot needs a zip file and especially a file called cbengine.zip that will update the engine from the 4320 version to 4400

I did a search of the NAI site and couldn't find reference to cbengine.zip And I believe you said you looked all over mcafee's site. It makes you wonder where it could be hiding.?

This is the program i am talking about. Very useful especially if you have an NTFS partition and you cannot scan from dos. This program cannot be updated with the exe file of the latest engine. That's why i wrote this post.

You could extract all of the files in the superdat file with the /e option then zip down the files you need into a zip file. Put the superdat file into a folder . Go to start, run and type "cmd" without the quotes navigate to the folder. Type sdatxxxx.exe /e where xxxx is the version of the superdat file. I know the superdat file has the engine included but I do not know if this will help with your cbengine.zip file. According to the above link, it sounds like the cbengine is a different engine from the one included in the superdat file, but it might be worth a try.

Hi guys, from what i've been told, virus scan engine 4400 is only available with the Enterprise products right now, mid-December is when they're saying it will be available for download with the home products.

No slowdown seen and it is supposed to give better protection. In particular, improved detection for archived/packed files and better cleaning abilities.
    Overall, an important upgrade/update ;)
