    Whats the latest update,, mine keeps downloading the same file
    same size17720 kb
    can get one and then check again it appears to download the same file

    You had the latest version, but ESET just released version 1.656 a few minutes ago.....

    It seems you have the tial version installed, hence updates are that large.

    can someone tell me why i keep getting the prompt "server connection failed" ? the support centre page is currently unnavailable.

    The message "Error connecting to server uX.eset.com." is common in my experience. I suspect it happens more regularly when updated signatures are released. Just a guess on my part that with all those NOD32 installations out there checking for updates every hour, the servers get a bit swamped when there are updates to be distributed.

    If this is not the error you're referring to, I'm afraid I can't comment.

    Thankyou all

    I did just get 1.658 file size 1722,, date 03/08-04
    tried again and another was available,, this time
    only 241 kb but has the same number,, 1,658

    I can just now check for updates and it will repeatedly download the same darn file,, I just did it four times to check.

    Just curious if this is just a regular behaviour odd though it is

    ""Virus signature database build: 4301""
    ^^ where is that info ?

    Yes, and its definatly not expired :D

    so is this a common thing ? repeated update cycle

    So you have a trial version.

    From ESET's FAQs:
    I am using trial version but keep being prompted for credentials though
    It is likely that your NOD32 attempts to download a newer program component upgrade. Since trial version does not permit program component upgrades, please choose No when promted. The subsequent virus signature database update should then be performed well.

    If you wish to use the most current version though, please download and install the latest trial version from our website.
