    Re: error unpacking file LP5

I have had problems updating spyware blaster on 4 different computers running xp and 2000. also downloaded the update from two different sites with same (non working) results. This is after downloading the new updater and then installing it,...it hangs up with an error.

I think the problem is in the new update,.....since it exhibits identical symptoms on various machines, and different OSs.

Any help from Javacool. I was considering buying the auto update,..but I think I'll wait till this is resolved.

(I hope you don't mind, but I split your post off from the other thread.)

What other similarities are there between those machines?

Are you using the same anti-virus, or firewall software?

    Best regards and thanks,

Are either of you using Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall?

For some reason, some users have reported both of those programs creating double (or multiple) rules for spywareblaster.exe, with one being a "deny" rule.

I have managed to get it to work by removing it from Norton and re configuring it to allow on all ports
