Does Eset have a recommended time between update checking? ie How often should the update goto the web site to check for updates?

I have a broardband connection so the frequency can be high if required.

By default when installing the program if you left the check in the box for performing automatic updates the program will check every hour. If you uncheck this either during install or after from the NOD32cc it will not check for updates. This is reference to updating the virus definitions. You can also select the same feature of PCU during the install or after by going to the NOD32cc. Hope this answers your question.

For the time being it's good to update even more times a day due to the epidemic that has outbroken recently . For example, we have issued 5 updates today.

Hmmm...I only got 3 updates on March 3 and 2 so far today. That's considering the time difference also. Why don't the updates show in local time? It is rather hilarious when I get an update dated the NEXT day and it is 12 hours or so before it is the next day here. It is a bit confusing. :) OTOH though, I guess it could be looked at as showing how extremely zealous Eset is! :D

    Heya Mele :)

We all live in different parts of this globe.
    And at different time-zones.
I don't need to tell you that :D

You can easily check whether you have the latest version ;)
You know that and I know that ;)

    Best regards, Jan.
