Sorry if I the thread title is confusing :D I have been experimenting with some keyloggers and anti-virus, spyware scanners.

While I had my protections disabled, I tried a few things to trick keyloggers including this:

    1. Go to my webmail, entered username
    2. Click on password field and enter my password like below (grasshop380)
    3. Keyed '30' clicked between 3 and 0, keyed '8'
    4. Clicked at the beginning of the password field and keyed 'raop'
    5. Clicked between ra and op and keyed 'ssh' clicked at the end and keyed 'er'
    6. Clicked at the beginning of the field and keyed 'g'

The end results that all the keyloggers recorded is '308raopssherg'.

The big questions is, what keyloggers out there that will not and cannot be tricked by this method? Also, what measures can we take against them?

(13 characters give 6,227,020,800 different combinations!)

What KL did you use ?

Different ones use various techniques for logging keys. Some, like yours appears to do, just log what's in the password box. Others will also log ALL keystrokes including the exact positions of keys and mouse clicks. So even if a particular KL didn't actually display the correct password for some reason, looking at the logs would reveal the positional clicks etc made, and could be discovered.

I used ACTMON (www.actmon.com) and Iopus Starr. The log (report) generated doesn't show exact positions, since it doesn't record any mouse clicks.

I am fairly sure there are some out there, but what are they? o_O
