Hi, I have a problem when trying to restore a windows 2000 server backup to a Dell Poweredge 2650. The Universal restore keeps asking for the driver for the following device: ACPI\GenuineIntel_-_x86_family_15_model_2 I have tried the HAL and ACPI drivers from the windows CD but nothing is working.

Does anybody know how to get these drivers?

BTW if i skip the driver and let the restore finish, windows will not boot in either normal or safe mode!

    Hello Stuart,

Thank you for using Acronis Corporate Products

Before restoring the backup of your machine to a machine with dissimilar hardware, please make sure you have drivers for the hard disk drive controller or chipset drivers. These drivers are critical for booting the operating system.

You can download the drivers for your motherboard on the Vendor's web-site. Please note, if you downloaded the drivers in *.exe, *.cab, *.zip format, you should extract them first.

The driver files should have *.inf, *.sys or *.oem extension.

Please see this article for more information.

    Thank you.
