you can also search for remaining pctools firewall files and registry items and delete them. Also look for remaining drivers and services and remove them. Then try installing online armor again.

Thats what usually what works for me.

For searching registry i use regseeker, and for drivers i use devmanview, for services look under administrative tools-services (xp)

Windows Button -> Control panel -> System -> Advanced system settings ->
System properties -> Advanced tab -> Environment variables

Then add a "New" System variable
    devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices with a value of 1

    Press OK on all screens.

Then, go to device manager. Then enable "Show hidden devices" in the View menu.

Then navigate to "Non Plug n Play devices"

In the list you should remove all PC Tools entries, there are probably multiple, look for names like PCTFW. In general all greyed out items are safe to remove, since they are leftovers.
All security applications leave a lot of "inactive drivers" left after uninstall. So if you tested quite some apps you will see a lot of drivers (especially Norton, AVG and avast! leave a lot behind).
Drivers you are not sure about: Google them. By just typing the entrie name in Google with the .sys extension. Example: PCTFWP.sys (google will show it is a driver of PC Tools FireWall Plus).

Yes, the three starting with E are indeed of ESET. SASKUTIL is surely part of SuperAntiSpyware, the other two probably too.

But you didn't find anything starting with PCT? Quite strange, then I don't know what problem causes the installation of firewalls to fail.

The same story becouse nothing wurks,so i restart +/- 10 times.

After the start are the PC totaly freezing.

I try 2 hours long OA bringing to life, but every time after opstart are me PC

    Two pieces of advice:

    1. Always reboot twice after uninstalling firewalls. Some FW require this (e.g. Online Armor)
    2. Stop using Revo to uninstall. Use the programs built in uninstaller. Only use tools like Revo if the uninstall fails.

    Why?

Revo always uses the Programs built in un-installer. It is more useful because it gives more options for a bit more experienced people. At least that is how i see it.

    I agree whit this statement.

    But?

I think I need to register on the PC Tools forum.
They must have a removal tool.
Because it did not work, and i installed PC Tools Firewall Plus again.
    PC running as a train.

    Why i uninstalled this firewall?
Firewall settings changed regularly, so that's not good.
Not infected said five scanners so I trust it.

Failure to install was olso the case with Mamutu.
So i am not really surprised.
    Thanks everyone for the help.:thumb:

But it then does a 'clean-up' based on what else it thinks should be removed? That's where the danger lies. imo they should only be used when the uninstall goes wrong, not as the primary method of uninstalling.

Jack Sparrow have you gone to control panel then services then disabling the pc firewall service & finally uninstalling,( if there is a service).

Yes of course I'm doing this for years with or without Revo!
I have hundreds of programs installed and uninstalled because I could answer give on forums how a particular program wurks.

I searched on Google how I could uninstall programms on the best way.
But that does not always work.

In System Manager, you can stop a program, then you could in "Windows32/Drivers", remove the driver(s) first.
Revo does the rest and very secure.
    Sometimes in the save mode.

No Folder /:C to see after that.

Then a registry cleaner and also to this service.

    Could it be cleaner??

True..which is why i mentioned that it requires a bit more experience so that you do not remove the wrong registry keys. Well i used less words but that is what it comes down to. :)

2X register at the Forum of PC Tools, and activated but I get no chance to post there!!
I remain in the queue because they did not want or (recognition)me.
This is so frustrating that I do not even want to post there.
Let them break their garbage software.

I still have no removal tool to completely dismantle the Firewall.
I'm also unhappy that the forum posters olso no removal tool can get.
PC Tools & Support are a hell on earth.

No more PC Tools software on me PC!!!!:thumbd: :thumbd:
    Tons of Garbage!!!!
