Decided to do a clean install, having been installing new builds on top of previous since 3.0.5.60, and hoping to integrate Prevx nicely into Action Centre,
and, hopefully, also see improved performance from boot-time splash screen.
Even after using Uninstall tool, CCleaner, then reboot, was surprised to see splash-screen appear-then system locked-up.
When re-booted still showed Prevx installed, so ran a scan to make sure I wasn't seeing things! Then tried to uninstall again, via trusty Revo, which seemed to go ok, re-booted- result: Prevx gone, then another freeze-up etc.
Tried Safe mode now and found an empty Prevx folder, and apparantly uninstalled. Rebooted-another freeze-up- found MBAM IP Protection module now disabled + error (ss attached), plus Kaspersky wouldn't scan.
To cut a long story short I did a System Restore finally, and saved a deep-scan log, which I'll send to Joe, if he wishes.
What I thought might take 5 or 10 minutes took 1 1/2 hours(!!), and now I'm
not really sure if it's installed ok now, even though it appears to be.

    Windows7 x86 + KIS 2010, MBAM, Zemana AL.

Did you disable all your other security before uninstall? If you want to give it another go make sure you disable all security then go to Add/Remove and uninstall Prevx from there and reboot and disable all security again then run the Prevx Uninstaller from here: Direct download Link http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=csiuninstalltool Reboot again and make sure you disable all security then Download a fresh copy of Prevx from here: http://info.prevx.com/downloadprevx.asp and have your key ready as after the learning scan you will have to install your key again and let us know how things went!

TH- Good evening, and thanks for fast response!
Well no, of course I haven't done exactly as you've described, but will try again
tomorrow after work. Was looking at Prevx site and couldn't find precise instructions, also noticed a few things need updating (e.g. in Help section), but,
thankfully we've got Joe and yourself here giving sterling advice.
Thanks Daniel, will post outcome here tomorrow DV.

Great it should work fine if you make sure to disable all security during each step I know it's a pain but they can interfere with other programs being installed and uninstalled! ;)

    Cheers,

Thanks TH, for the response as always :) Dermot7 - in addition to TH's advice, can you try this specific sequence:

Run the removal tool from http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=csiuninstalltool

    Then reboot your PC

Then install the newest version from http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp

    - if it still doesn't install properly, try uninstalling again now by running:

    "c:\program files\prevx\prevx.exe" /prop UNINSTALL=AUTO

and then reboot and install again.

Let me know if it still fails on bootup or if there are any issues that you're experiencing. Sorry again for the inconvenience!

Thanks Joe, haven't yet tried your recommendations, and here's how things stand, following TH's instructions: After installation seemed fine- showing in ActionCenter for 1st time (as you had said):

But no boot-up splashscreen. Then, after another reboot, v. slow connecting to Internet, then Prevx system tray icon saying "disabled", Self-protection set at maximum, and still saying 310 days on my license.

Put Prevx into KIS exclusions, rebooted, splashscreen ok all switched on now, then system slow and sluggish finishing start-up, now Zemana not working, and audio service stopped, and after a quick blank-screen then got MBAM error, with protection module disabled, enabled ok. Did Deep Scan, and saved log as zipfile. Rebooted, splashscreen, license etc. now ok, except start up was slow again.
Overall, not sure, but think there's a conflict between perhaps Zemana or MBAM's IP Protection module and Prevx, albeit maybe only on my set-up on
this laptop? Think I've got more than enough to be able to drop one.

Anyone ok with Prevx+Zemana on Windows 7?
See how it goes, and Joe thanks, it's not a major inconvenience for me, because I use this laptop to try and help me learn to a large extent, and love
    installing OS's....it's so satisfying!

Just to me KIS & Prevx with SafeOnline you will be Quite secure and Just run MBAM On-Demand and Zemana I never used so I can't say but it is unnecessary if you use SafeOnline when you do online Transactions! IMHO

Yeah TH, think you've ultimately got the final solution, we all know about having too much real-time apps enabled, and KIS is "heap strong medicine" and the quality of Prevx's protection is imho, matchless, and I've tried (but not professionally tested) many AVs over the past couple of years, and I declare that Prevx rocks...bigtime!...light, yet strong and powerful.
Thanks TH and have a good evening!

Thanks Cudni, that's right also, I'll probably just run MBAM on-demand henceforth.

Hope it works out for you in that configuration and try Cudni's suggestion to see if that works if you think you need the added protection of realtime MBAM! And have a good night there! ;)

I've concluded that, at least for me, there was some conflict between Zemana
and Prevx, since I found that even if ZAL is disabled, on start-up it still displays
a tooltip balloon informing it is switched-off, and if you enable it then Prevx gets switched off, and all sorts of slowdowns and lock-ups occur. I've uninstalled ZAL now, and see how it goes. Incidentally, I had also disabled MBAMs IP module to improve things, but now I think it may not have been the source of
the problems. A bit OT, but I was wondering a while back why Zemana doesn't launch default browser if you select e.g. Help/Support via GUI...can anyone confirm this? No big deal, just seemed a little strange.
Will do another install as per Joe's advice if things don't run smoothly, but think it's ok now.

Did a 2nd install yesterday, following Joe's and TH's advice, and thought all issues seemed resolved (with Zemana gone, and MBAMs IP module disabled),
however(!), following a reboot, saw Prevx splashscreen, then irresponsive, taskbar not loading, then blackscreen, no response(ctrl+alt+delete etc), then error: "Failure to display security and shutdown options the logon process was unable to display security and logon options when C+A+D was pressed...etc", press "OK", desktop returns but Prevx disabled, clicked Prevx icon on Start menu, got UAC then black Start menu, after this unpinned icon from there.
Was thinking now I had a registry corruption issue perhaps, and looking at MS Answers forum found reference to the blackscreen issue of 5-6 months back, and links to Prevx solution. Decided to apply the fix (fixshell.exe), and indeed, it seems to have made a definite impact....good fast start-up, no more blackscreens(touch wood!), and generally better.
Not absolutely certain(yet), if this is the answer, but it seems so, and I don't want to keep uninstalling/installing, so fingers crossed.........

Please let me know if anything reoccurs! Our "black screen fix" has fixed several hundred thousand people's registry-based black screen problems so hopefully it will keep the issues away for you as well :)

Thanks Joe, so much for my wishful thinking.......the problem returned!!
Installed again, meticulously following directions, but start-up issue still there.
At this stage concluded that there could be only one likely remaining source of
problem.....KIS. Uninstalled Kaspersky, and hallelujah, total relief and resolution! Although KIS had previously been fine with RC version, and on top build-updates, it seems that something went wrong after I did a new install of Prevx, or KIS had become corrupted in some way.
Haven't re-installed KIS yet (may not) but the relief is great, and after many
reboots since yesterday, I'm now totally sure problem has gone.
And they all lived happily ever after..................etc!!!

Very interesting - could you let me know exactly what version of Kaspersky you're using so that we can try to reproduce the problem internally?

Additionally, can you try changing the Prevx self protection settings from Maximum to Minimum and then reboot? We have had a couple users in the past report incompatibilities being fixed by changing Self Protection in Prevx - not sure if that would be the case here but it is worth a shot! :)

Thanks Joe, I was using Kaspersky Internet Security 9.0.0.736(a,b).
Changed Self-Protection level to medium already at some stage, when I saw
it set at maximum, and presumed it shouldn't be set so high. Don't have any
issues or incompatibilities now, but have installed Avast suite, and seems to be co-existing fine with Prevx. Thought about just using Prevx as standalone, with W7 firewall, but being a bit paranoid(!) wanted a bit more security, and from KIS,Avast,TM,Norton(licenses), chose Avast, but might not stick with it.
    Cheers. :)
