I just downloaded the latest trial version of nod32 for xp, but when I try to do a manual update I get the following message even when I change the server.
"Your version of NOD32 is up to date. No update necessary"

I have reinstalled it 3 times and even though I get the initial installation message that my definitions are out-of-date, this message keeps coming-up when I try to update it. The signature database on my installation is 1.940(20041205), but on their site, the current version is: 1.951 (20041217).

Please download a FRESH copy of Nod32 from www.nod32.com

    Uninstall your current version.

Remove the Eset Folder from C Drive> Program Files.

Install the FRESH copy of Nod32 that you downloaded above.

Let us know how you go…

    Cheers :D

Thanks, I have tried this already, but it keeps doing the same, my friend downloaded the latest trial version and it is doing the same thing on his system.
Could this be problem with their servers?

It may just be, as from what I understand the Trial Version uses a seperate server.

With this issue can you please send an email to support@nod32.com and place a link to this thread. If you do not hear from Eset within 3 days (allows for weekends), please advise us here...

We would appreciate if you could keep us in the loop with your progress, as we all learn this way…

    Cheers :D

    Hello linuxlad,

Yes, there appears to be a problem when installing the trial version and trying to manually update. I have contacted one of Eset's 'brains' to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience.
