Unable to uninstall SpywareBlaster 3.0

I am trying to upgrade to SpywareBlaster v3.1 and I understand that I have to uninstall the old before installing the new, but I am have some problems.

When I open SB v3.0 to disable the items this is what comes up:

IE Protection is enabled Database error
Restricted Sites protection is enabled Database error
Mozilla/FireFox not installed Database error
SpywareBlaster database loaded: Check for updates

The little boxes have no check marks in them so I cannot disable. When I close SpywareBlaster and go to Add/Remove Program and try to remove it , I get this message:

'File "C:\Program Files\spywareblaster\unis000.data" does not exist. Cannot uninstall.'

I also get a message saying that the files may be missing or damaged.

I don't know what to do next and since I am a newbie at this computer thing, I would appreciate any help you offer in layman's terms. Thanks .

Windows XP Pro, IE 6.
