Unable to read or format compact flash disk

I have a 16Mb LexarMedia compactflash card which doesn't read at all. When I insert the disk into pcmcia card reader the windows explorer shows an additional drive but it gives a message "disk not formatted". I try to format but it gives me an error message "cannot format drive". I then tried the Acronis Director Suite 10 build 2089 and it doesn't show any additional drive apart from the local harddrive.

Does anyone have a work around for this so I can fix this media ?

Does the acronis director suite read these medias ?

Please accept my apologies for the delay with the response.

I'm afraid that it is not possible to perform any partitioning operations with a Flash disk using Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0. You are also not able to recover such a media using our software. The support of these devices will probably be implemented in future.
