Have had no trouble installing/running SWB at home but just tried it at work and it stalls trying to find a location for 'Crystal90 and 8 Crystal' or something like that.

Prompts for a location of a file, all new to me and unable to go any further.

Running XP SP2, Realsecure desktop protector, Spybot S&D

    any workarounds - ideas ?

    Hello Graham....Welcome to Wilders,

If I am understanding correctly you are attempting to install Spywareblaster on a work PC and during the install it's wanting something to do with a program called "Crystal90 and 8 Crystal" :doubt:

If that's correct understanding....this is usually attributed to a program that needs to finish an installation and in this an installation of "Crystal90 and 8 Crystal" or this is the first time this XP SP2 user has signed on with this account without having used "Crystal90 and 8 Crystal".

Also....it would really help if you can re-attempt and get the actual exact error message Please or even upload a screenshot of what you are seeing.

Hello, thanks for the quick reply.

The installation appears to go Ok until the screen where you tick the box to run SWB and click 'finish'

A box appears 'Crystal90NCrystal8' it starts to configure and gather required information

Another box appears 'The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROm or other removable disc, insert the Crysral90NCrystal8 disc to continue'

There is a box that defaults to this disk being in location '1' but you have the option to browse to another location.

At this point I have to cancel and get Error code 1706 'windows instaler cannot continue'

    HTH

"At this point I have to cancel"....is there a reason you have to cancel :doubt:

Also....are you familar with the program Crysral90NCrystal8 it's calling for ??

If so....on this XP user account....can you open up that prgram and then close it down....then attempt Spywareblaster again.

This is a common problem with other programs also when attempting to open\install Spywareblaster and the usual work around is to let it finish what ever the other program needs. When users have reported a similar problem of Office wanting to install something....one of the fixes is to open an Office product on that signed in XP account that has not used an Office product yet on that signed in XP account and then Spywareblaster works properly.

Bottom line....you are going to have to let Crysral90NCrystal8 install what it wants or use Crysral90NCrystal8 on that account for the first time and then Spywareblaster should work properly.

    HTH,
    Bubba
