    Hello

Run into problem with system not booting so used GoBack to enter XP Home but trouble restoring image from my external Drive. The problem with XP was to do with corrupt Windows root\system…. Anyway changes the external hard drive (which is a complete clone of c drive for two weeks ago) so all up and going. Now the problem now is with clone over the old C drive that is now the external drive. After the windows reboots and analyzing the first partition…..100% underneath is the message “error: disc not found Press any key to restart windows”. What could I be doing wrong? All files are still on this H/drive and can be view and open in p/shop etc but just can’t clone over to create a complete backup. Also windows report the drive as being healthy.

    Thanks
    Gary

    Hello Gary,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

We are really sorry for the inconveniences.

First of all, please make sure you use the latest build, which is available on our web site at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/. To get access to updates you should register your software first at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/registration/. Please disable any download managers, internet download/connection boosters, etc. before the download.

If you use Norton GoBack please disable it before cloning as described at our site http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/faq.html#18

If the problem persists please create Acronis Report (please see https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=55317 for the instructions) and send to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will certainly help you with the solution.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. There wasn’t any inconvenience compared to my last crash before installing True Image this was a breeze. I took me 20 minute to swap H/drives and I was up and going. Last time, my system was away for a week and it took 3 weeks to reestablish all my windows P/shop setting and download lost programs. I don’t know why problem as each fortnight I clone the complete h/drive and add new folder to the backup h/drive daily. Couldn’t remember when creating to new h/drive image if I had it set to primary or secondary drive there’s possibly something simple I’m missing??

    Thanks
    Gary

    Hello Gary,

To sort out the problem we need to have a look at Acronis Report. Also please clarify whether you are creating the image or cloning the drive? Do you use Norton GoBack or I misunderstood your first post?

    Thank you.
