I'm trying to protect port 443 against incoming TCP packets, because Gibson Research's port profiling states it as open: http://images.orkut.com/orkut/albums3/ATgAAADd6OFlpjw1MXYq7QKbc2Fj90N1yHhZSL30_ocOaboK4EG_xU48fkpytKA35OfolunIr8fK2PNGar5SEvW8ncgSAJtU9VAUy0v-Yosz6QDH8OiO2gAG1i3xfA.jpg Having established a block on that port, as showed below, nothing changes - port remains opened. How can I close port 443? Also tried to block this access to/from svchost, but no edition facilities appears. Running ESET Smart Security trial, v3.0.650.0 on XP sp2. Blocking outgoing connections to 443 is not wise, you will loose HTTPS, you could block incoming but I don't see the point since this traffic is generaly secure... My first question should be, HOW DO YOU CONNECT?? are you behind a router?? or directly connected via modem?? because if you're behind a router then GRC is not testing ESS but the router... Another question would be, why are you afraid of a secure connection??
