Uknown file?

Hi all, not sure if im posting in the right area of this site, but i have a file that im not sure hwat its for, so i would really like some help.

''The file is Called: msagent, and it is located in C:\WINDOWS''

Is this part of Microsoft not sure or is it malware like the following not sure?

Startup Name Process Name Details
X MSAgent mshtm.exe Browser hijacker - redirecting to buldog-search.com
X My Agent msagent.exe "Added by the NEGASMS.A TROJAN!"

Scanned with AV and AT, found nothing, so all or any advice is welcome,

the msagent.exe is called microsoft agent. it is a valid file. you can go to microsft.com and type in msagent and get more detailed info about what it used for. but to make sure its clean with your av - scan it! As most malware and others tend to have look alike's - i.e. msagent vs MSagent etc. hope this was helpful!

 

its spelt msagent and i scaned it with my AV , AT looks clean just some advice, so thank you,
