UK SP2 CD's available now

Those of us on dial-up, waiting for the Microsoft SP2 CD, can obtain the CD with a number of UK Computer Magazines which have just come out.

These include PC Plus, Computer Buyer and Microsoft Windows XP Magazine.

 

Dell Inspiron laptop users need to visit Dell Forum before installing SP2. This is because SP2 might slow down your laptop.

I lost the 3 articles about this slow down on Dell using SP2 and the suggested fixs to the problem ... but anyway, visit Dell forum.

I have just installed SP2!!!

Seems to boot-up and shut-down okay so far! I will go over to the Dell forums and check what they say.

Hopefully this is only with Win XP Home; http://news.zdnet.co.uk/software/windows/0,39020396,39165428,00.htm. I am on Win XP Pro.

Near the end of the article there is a link to Dell Forum regarding the fix to Windows XP Home Edition SP2 ... doesn't look good for Home Edition users ... hmmm ...

Nevermind, I prefer 3rd party security softwares anyway as I got total control over them.

So I will not jump on to SP2 for now ...
