ubuntu update problem?

is any one also facing this problem

 

Go to synaptic> repositories and select fastest servers, this is a temporary local network glitch.

 

i try many other servers its kinda stuck on same i also tried update from

apt-get upgrade --fix-missing some what update

but when i use same gui mode

problem same

 

can you reach http://archive.canonical.com ?
what about the cli, does that give the same error, just type
sudo apt-get update

If that all doesn't work try disabling the partner repo as a temporary workaround.

 

strange i am still facing the problem

vi /etc/resolv.conf

# my isp dns server
nameserver x.x.x.x
nameserver x.x.x.x



it work but after reboot edit gone strange i did it as root

i guss it was dns name resolution problem behind the proxy server .......what i did is i added a dns in NetworkManager as well look like problem solved hope so
