Ubuntu choppy playback

    I am using Ubuntu 7.10 on an Athlon 64 4200 processor. Generic NVidia card.

    Playing back and avi file from my camera the playback is choppy especially full screen. I am using Totem M Player. The same file on my Windows machine is fine.

    Is there any workaround for this please.

    Did you install drivers for your graphic card?

    I was sure that I installed it when I set it up but when I checked it was not installed - should have looked first :(. It is fine now.
