Well, after adding some more software and playing a bit more with my Ubuntu 16.04 VM, the most impressive thing to me about it is how easy the transition is from 14.04. Unity looks and works exactly the same and there is nothing new that I need to figure out. All the action is under the hood. This is nice. I wish Windows upgrades worked this way. Any new installs of Ubuntu will be 16.04 and my current 14.04 systems will remain the same for some time to come. Now I'm going to have a 14.04 host running a 16.04 guest.
I did a 2nd clean install of 16.04 yesterday and was pleasantly surprised this time. Everything seems very nice and only a few tiny cosmetic glitches were present. I'm sticking with 16.04 from now on and saying goodbye to 14.04.4. I get the best video with Ubuntu compared to any other distro, and even compared to Win. Just really nice.
