Footprint seems to be rather high as of late anything to do with a particular filter? I unticked HP hosts in Umatrix and the memory went down significantly, anything similar happening with Ublock?

Chromium has been getting worse with regard to memory consumption, something I mentioned in a previous release. Also, there is Chromium bug which causes a significant memory leak each time one bring up the popup UI of an extension. And the apparently Chromium 41 is even worse.

Frankly, it's not looking good for Chromium, as the responses to these bugs has the smell of bureaucracy.

Thanks for confirming what I found.. Chromium is getting VERY heavy lately, and it's driving me nuts.. I am running a program a friend of mine makes called "CleanMEM" to keep Chromium in check, and it seems to be working. But this is really disappointing. Free CleanMEM works fine.

Agreed. I have plenty of ram on my machines (8GB-16GB+) but I find CleanMem stabilizes the systems, not allowing memory fragments to go awry. When SWTOR had a huge memory leak issue, I never faced the issues others did because I had CleanMem in the background cleaning the debris up. I love the program, and Pro is dirt cheap - but free works fine too!

lol@CleanMem. There are still users using useless applications despite all what have been said on "RAM cleaner"...
Let's not discuss it here, and I let you use google to understand RAM cleaners are useless.

People often mistake CleanMem for placebo boosters, and trash programs. As I said, even though I have plenty of ram, CleanMem has proven itself capable of fixing programs that have memory leaks, and incorrect pulling of memory fragments on closure. I've successfully used programs with terrible memory leaks, only with CleanMem installed. CleanMem was made by a former Microsoft Engineer, and one of the best engineers I know. It's free not because he can't sell it, but because he would like people to experience the benefits first hand.

LOL, it's obvious who here isn't even using Google. Let me guess, uBlock is just another adblocker?

The frustrating aspect of that report as a developer is that I can't investigate, no URL given.

Since it is blanked out, it's probably embarrassing. :doubt:

Note thought that it's possible that 100% of the net requests are blocked. The root document is not counted -- because it cannot be blocked as per ABP filters semantic. So it's possible that all secondary resources were blocked, it all depends on the filter lists selected.

    (µBlock for Firefox)

To delete the item indicated by the arrow:

    Immagine.JPG

    http://www.megalab.it/

I have to import the filter:

    ||megalab.it/theme/barranetwork/*

    of ABP.

From ABP/Firefox, not ABP/Chromium, as I could not create it with ABP/Chromium either. It's a CSS background image. I suppose I could investigate adding the ability to fallback on extracting the URL of background image, if any, for when no image URL can be found.

In both Chrome and Opera settings I have allowed javascript. With uMatrix I have removed all previous javascript allowed entries under 'Manage Exceptions' when I still had javascipt disabled and used to enable it only for specific sites.
What is recommended with uBlock ? If I disable javascipt then the dynamic filtering is of limited use, so I have it enabled in the browser settings. If enabled should I remove all the previous javascript allowed entries as I did with uMatrix, or should I simply leave them in 'Manage Exceptions' in the browser settings ?
