I can't open their site. Which country are they from? China? Typical China name - "twister".

mcafee siteadvisor gave a full red on their site... no good?

And it is a Chinese company... They are by the way also the creators of the free filseclab Personal Firewall Pro. Used it a long time ago. Not handy.

Well a little bit of viewing of the the actual review page would reveal that the reason for the red rating is linking to bunch of red-rated sites.

This is only speculation in my part but they could easily be various download sites which offer this application for download. This has happened before with SA rating sites red due to them linking to various download sites which offer all sorts of files (including those that have say adware included).

Why, AVG 8 blocks access to the Twister AV page, showing a resident shield alert about "Exploit Rogue Spyware Scanner".....:doubt:

From what I hear Twister is actually a bit decent. Program upgrades are slow to come by though. Dunno :doubt:

Not listed in SpywareWarrior's rogue page... so it shouldn't be a rogue.

Amazing...you pay for one license and you get it lifetime!
Is it good, because it's firewall got the lowest result in Matousec's leak tests.

    Program changes/updates:
    http://www.filseclab.com/eng/products/twister_whatnew.htm

The program is updating several times a day. See today's history:
    http://www.filseclab.com/eng/history/history.htm

So is it a dud of a program, or does it actually perform ok?

SpywareWarrior's rogue page has not been updated in over a year.

Here's a user review from someone also recommending SAS and A2:

Otherwise google search is looking lean.

Filseclab.com does not produce rogue software. I used their firewall years ago.. pity that it's not being updated anymore.

It's very light and the detection is surprising me...
Many samples that are not detected by known AVs are detected by Twister.
Two samples that I sent to F-Secure to be added to database are detected by Twister.
Two samples that I send to Twister labs yesterday are being detected today... (but I didn't receive e-mail feedback)

People, you need to take care with prejudice...
You can't say an AV isn't good or that it's a fraud only because it's chinese or because MCafee site advisor is telling that the page is dangerous... Mcafee AV, for example, probably detects less than 50% of Twister detection...
I'm doing tests with other samples and I'm positively scared with the results...
I think it can be other good AV in our list... I have no doubt that Twister detection is better than other known AV software.
You can give a chance to Twister and try it before creating wrong ideas.

    I ran Twister AntiVirus V7 R3 version 7.3.1.9969
Quite a long installation/update, but no troubles at all.

    Full Scan Results :
    Scanned: 168812
    Infected: 0
Elapsed Time : 00:12:43, fast but not 2 minuts.

No false positives and that's very good. That's what I call light years ahead technology.
I leave it up to AV experts to evaluate this one.

To me it's just another scanner, that didn't detect anything like all the rest.
After all I'm an average user, who wants to get rid of malware as fast as possible and without the show. :)

If Wilders policy doesn't block VirusTotal and/or comparative data I could show that you are wrong in your sentence:
"To me it's just another scanner, that didn't detect anything like all the rest."
    But I can't... :|

I might give it a try but $29.95 is a bit steep for a little-known AV with no track record.

As to "lifetime licenses," I never rely on such a preposterous business model as that. By inference, the company is offering to perpetually maintain a product that it sells just once. Blarney! It is expensive to maintain an AV at state-of-the-art. When a company offers to do that, its "lifetime" license" generally refers NOT to the user's lifetime, but to the lifetime of the company. And the lifetime of companies making those sorts of offers is usually very brief.

Give me any scanner and I will run it. I know the scan results already in advance : 0 threats found.
I ran already so many scanners to verify my setup. VirusTotal won't make a difference.
What is so special about VirusTotal, it's just a collection of scanners, nothing more than that.

tiagozt, Erik wasn't talking about scanning some malware collection and this product not finding anything. He was talking about scanning his already clean PC with it and it detecting nothing because he has no malware on his PC. That's all. VT results won't tell us anything about Erik's PC or his whole 'boot to restore' setup. Erik, now that I've said it for you, let's not get into your configuration again in yet another thread about an AV scanner, okay?

The DEMO key is 90-day... Three months is a good time to try an AV.
