does anyone know away to get twister to run under a limited account?

or doesnt it support multi accounts?

reason why i ask is because i have the admin (me) and the guest account for people to use.

twister doesnt seem to load under the guest because i dont see the services load or even the tray icon.

    thanks
    Brock

I dont think Twister will run as a limited user account.

I gave Twister one more shot. Installed it, registered it. Rebooted after the prompt. PC boots back up, click to allow the Twister updates, and blue screen crash. Ugh

Love how light the program is, and it has a nice GUI & features, but it was highly unstable for me on the two PCs I have tried it on.

    According to Filseclab here http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A//ftfans.org/viewthread.php%3Ftid%3D3206%26page%3D1%23pid10872&hl=en&langpair=auto|en&tbb=1&ie=x-gbk

The new version is 90% ready, good news for 64 bit users also as it looks as though it will also be supported :)

@Tony -- many THANKS for the update. Some recent tests show that Twister still does pretty good, even with its somewhat outdated engine.

Once I got a patch from them that fixed my issue, I really liked this program. It has a fairly solid behavior blocker. I never purchased it though because originally they claimed the new version would not support 64bit, and at this point my machines are almost completely ported over.

Twister does seem like a nice review from what I have read, its nice to see the new program is 90% ready. Maybe once the new version is released they will be added to some tests :D

I had tried to get the 90 day free trial on the website but when I downloaded and registered the program, the registration would only last 30 days. Is the 90 day key inactive these days?

Wow, I was just on their site this weekend looking for info on an update. I thought maybe they halted development. I would test it again if I know it works on 64bit.

That was my question as well. Is anyone currently using this? How is it?

Forgot all about this AV. After uninstalling MSE a few days ago, I figured I'd give it another try. I love it and would buy it accept for one quirk. The first install came from softpedia, installed fine updated the program twice which tells me their version wasn't up to date. Anywho here's the quirk, BSOD happened when closing IE8. No biggie with snapshot rollback. I went to twister site for the download there. Downloaded it which probably came from Tucows. It too was way behind on versions but only updated the program once that I know of because during the update, BSOD. I said one quirk but make it two. It doesn't register itself with Win 7 action center. I wish I could get this to work for me because it is extremely light on my old laptop.

It is probably the lightest AV I have tested.

I am going to try again here in a few minutes. The last BSOD may have been my fault. Whilst it was doing it's downloading and updating, I was in the Control Panel adding my other security apps etc.. to the exclusion list when it konked out.

This also may be why I got the BSOD's. I'm not running Win 7 in Standard but I do use AppGuard which may have a problem with Twister. First install ran well until I closed out IE8 with AG enabled but the second install BSOD before I had a chance to enable AG.

Type is just in this thread, not the product.
    http://www.filseclab.com/eng/products/twister.htm

Great program by the way - credit where credit's due. Solid detection rates, strong behaviour blocker built in, I mean, people always talk of ThreatFire, Mamutu, but Twister's behavioural analysis should also be mentioned and considered more often.

    MUCHLY agree.

Although Twister's engine hasn't been updated in a while, their signatures are kept very much up-to-date. As Saraceno said -- their behavior blocker (BB) is very strong indeed.
