What makes you think default settings are not "the better one" ?

    default setting = basic protection

it could be better and we can set other way. I tried but v3 have a bigger footprint than v2.7..... But for my P3 733, 512 ram, default settings seems better :(

You should stick with 2.7 until you get a beefed up machine.

Similar comments using various words have cropped up since this release but so far none have mentioned which settings that are not part of the default\Typical(recommended best settings) they feel need adjustment. Other than a user needing to choose during installation whether to enable\disable potentially unwanted applications, the settings are about as strong as one could tweak them IMMHO.

Is your "basic protection" word usage and\or understanding based on word of mouth or do you have certain aspects of the install that you would further like to see tweaked in regards to protection ?

I choose NOD32 for the best protection AND its little footprint because of my old pc. Version 3 works fine, just looking for the best setting my pc could handle... and that need some test of different settings ;)

Sorry, english is not my first language.....

yes .....word of mouth as you said. Basic protection dont means it is not good, we can increase protection by custom settings

    heu...... what means IMMHO ?

Totally ridiculous advice. The machine specs stated are easily sufficient to run version 2.x or version 3.x. I use some systems with less horsepower and there is no problem with any of them.

It benefits no one to post information that is inaccurate and misleading.
