I have PrevXSafeOnline on my wife's laptop.

The heuristics is collecting info and sending according the settings.

There is one thing I do not understand though. When PrevXCSI launched it had a freeware version only removing adware and it listed other (more serious) infections. So when people tried it out and were infected, CSI provided a stimulus to buy the full version.

As far as I can recall the heuristics do not give you a warning when you get infected. So where is the reason for some one using SafeOnline to buy PrevX full? What is the idea behind Evaluation Monitoring, is it only a possible point of malware collection or does it also serve a marketing purpose?

    Regards Kees

SafeOnline won't show a specific warning message when infected but it will still perform scheduled scans and you can interact with the GUI to view full results. The main upsell of SafeOnline itself is to add full protection (i.e. all HTTPS websites) from the full SafeOnline. The antimalware upsell is still the same as if a user wants to clean infections or be protected against all infections, they will need a full license key.

    Hope that helps! :)

There is any way to deactivate the file scanner and use only SafeOnline?

If I set all the heuristic settings to OFF, Prevx still scan my computer on real time?

What is the difference? will only scan my computer with the definitions database?

With the heuristic in MAX will eat more CPU?

    Thanks.

As far as I know, you cannot have one without the other. It would be great to be able to have just SOL, without Prevx scanner, though. It doesn't matter how many resources it wastes or not. Why have something running, when we do not wish it so? At least, an option to disable it.

I understand that it is provided for me (SOL), but users should be given the ultimate choice of wanting to have or not the scanner enabled.

    3. All the definitions are in the cloud on there servers!

    4. No it will not use more CPU but there is more of a possibility of FP's if you use many different programs that most people don't use!
