Trying to install Windows Live Essentials 2012

Hi, I'm having trouble getting Windows Live Essentials to install on Windows 8, when I click install it tells me the component Microsoft .NET Framework 3 is required, when I click get this component I'm taken here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22

but when I try to install this, I get an error saying it cannot be downloaded and to check I'm connected to the Internet. I'm wondering if others have/ are getting this error also, or whether it's a Microsoft server problem

I've also downloaded the Full Package, but trying to install this gives me the same error
