Trying to install Ubuntu on a frinds Acer laptop.

    Location:
    Pennsylvania.
    He has 3 partitions one of them is named Acer. Is that the one we have to resize? At the moment I don't know how big the HDD is but I can find it out later.

    Pay attention not to touch the hidden Acer partition and the mbr; or he will be unable to restore his pc to the factory settings.

    Have you tried wubi installer? It installes ubuntu without modifing the hd.
