I am trying kerio now and quite happy with it.

i find it very user friendly and it doesn't block good sites.

I like the hips and nips feature.

i don't get any slow downs or internet slow downs so quite hpappyt with it now.

i am using the latest version and i wont use any previous version i always use the latest lol.

wat does kerio have that no other firewall has and that makes kerio a good firewall?

how often does kerio update its program once a yr or once every few months?

    any word on a 4.3?

how many ppl here are using kerio 4.2 and a really happy.

and any comments why u use kerio and no other firewall?

kerio works good :D (new version) I used it for a bit and had packet rules etcetera and it wasn't a huge "resource hog"
I found it could be configured to show/alert/ask 'bout anything you wanted to. :D
More in depth customizable rules with kerio-+? :doubt:

I've just switched from my favourite (Sygate) over to Kerio 4.20 and so far I'm very impressed, I tried Outpost for almost a week, you'll find my Sygate/Outpost postings on their forums, not impressed with the problems Outpost gave me, done a LOT of reading on many forums, tried many latest versions of all firewalls and quite happy that Kerio offers the same simplicity as Sygate with a nicer interface in my opinion.

Zero problems with it so far, good choice.

    Fedorov.

I had enabled the application behaviour blocking ticked and set up that stuff inside it but don't go there unless you want to "play". :D
You'll soon see a lot of stuff going on in ms stuff, installed apps etcetra I think.
But whether one wants to is an individual matter,.. though I enjoyed playing about in there to see what about to/went on.
It was fascinating what this 'wall could do.
IF you wanted to really tighten the OS "box" up. :D

Strangely  I never invoked web filtering or blocking... as it disappears after a/the trial on the free version. Pay for is same exe installer anyway. :)

"I am trying kerio now and quite happy with it".
    end quote yours
:D It is a feature rich app even with the disappearing web filtering option after the trial goes to free version.

    chaos16,

You need to allow inbound connections within Kerio on the internet side, sometimes it doesn't sense this and ask, so you need to enable it.

Most of the default settings within Kerio are pretty good, although I would disable activex controls. I would also go into the NIPS section, and make sure the low option is set to block as well.

Kerio has not done that good in the firewall test look here

    http://www.firewallleaktester.com/tests.htm

i know that it was a long time that they did the test.

does anyone know if there will be a new test for the latest version of each firewall?

Though I don't know the testing parameters and criteria etcetera
According to what you posted(your link) on that firewall test its Look n' Stop Gold Rated(sites criteria) hands down? :D
And it looks like as I have had to wonder for a while why I don't keep soft 'walls on board :D ... after I play with them. :doubt:
The highest scoring is 18 out of 24. :(
Leaves a lot to be desired if the Highest is that number, shoulda' been closer to a 22-23.

I tried most (couldn't get all to work) of the leaktests and the HIPS feature blocked ones that previously slipped by the application launch contol of 4.1.3.
