I'm using Acronis True Image v10.0, build 4871. Some months ago I started getting errors whenever I ran my email backup task. The task is set up as follows:

    - Back up: My Email
    - Selected: Microsoft Office Outlook (all folders except Junk E-mail)
    - Saved to dedicated Backup Location folder, no file name req'd
    - Create full backups each time
    - Use default options for this task
    - Perform this task Weekly (8:00am Sundays)

Almost every time, 33% of the way into the backup process, I get one or both of the following crash messages for TrueImageService:

    http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/3441/trueimageerrortx2.gif

It doesn't seem contingent on whether or not I have Outlook open. I've deleted the task many times, rebuilt it from scratch and ran it, and received the same crash error. I've rebooted by computer, opened Acronis and tried it first thing and still had the crash.

I should point out I don't have problems with My Data backups or full disk images. Also, the Email backup does succeed 1 out of every 8 or so tries.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Chris

Have you tried the latest build of TI 10 (4,942)?

Per your advice, I just installed build 4942 and ran it. I first deleted the old Task and went to create a new one. The program crashed at the 3rd step in the wizard where I select individual mail folders to back up. For some reason my treeview looked like:

Microsoft Office Outlook | Profiles | Outlook | Personal Folders | Personal Folders | Personal Folders | (list of folders)

I'm not sure why it navigated down through 3 levels of Personal Folders, but it was when I was collapsing them back upward when it crashed. Trying a second time, I was able to deselect the Junk E-mail folder and complete the wizard. I ran the Task, and immediately received a new error:

"Failed to recognize the path '\Profiles\Outlook\Personal Folders\Personal Folders\Personal Folders\Top of Personal Folders\Deleted Items' within the archiving module of application 'Microsoft Office Outlook'." (Hey TI, I didn't choose that path, YOU did.)

Finally, I recreated the Task and just selected all of Microsoft Outlook without cherrypicking folders. I ran the Task, and it worked! I reran it several more times and it continued to work. I am still concerned that I'm unable to deselect individual mail folders, and don't know why it showed three levels of "Personal Folders". (If anyone's seen that issue before I'd be curious to know.) Otherwise, I'm relieved the new installation seems to be running better.

    Hello all,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.
Absolutely correct suggestion. It is always recommended to have the latest build of Acronis True Image Home since each new build brings a lot of minor updates to the backup engine algorithms and corrects errors if any.
In this case we recommend you to submit a request for technical support providing the description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

Please feel free to contact us again any time should you have any further questions.

    Thank you,

    Best Regards,
    Alexey Bogomolov
