    Hello!
My external 2TB truecrypt volume stopped working after shutting down windows7-64bit with the drive mounted by truecrypt. I have good enough backups to survive, but started anyway to try to get the data back. But I'm stuck, maybe someone can give some idea what has happened.

I have an external 2Tb external USB3 harddisk. The whole disk as an truecrypt partition. All working well. Shut down win7-64bit with trucrypt volume mounted. Removed drive. Started windows, windows had big problems, could not login me, but another account worked. Rebooted and windows somehow fixed itself and pc works ok.
But when mounting the hd with truecrypt it said it was corrupted. Suggested to restore volume header (I did it from the volume itself, I have no external backup), I did that (never changed password) and it looked ok. Then it mounted ok in windows (I gave my password) and the drive letter appeared. But when selecting the drive windows wants to format it.
I tried with different cables etc.
In Linux I looked at the contents of the drive after giving the password, it is all garbage, this should not be the case after reading all these threads?
I have used at least the following programs but no luck: wxHexEditor, PhotoRec, GetDataBack, gParted, TestDisk 6.14.

Somehow the contents still seems to be crypted although I gave my password, what could be wrong? Could it be that the drive somehow put on its own hardware cryption? I will not go through a long process of recovery because I have good enough backups, but I thought I could try something before reformatting the whole thing (hopefully disk not broken).

I have an identical disk that works ok, here comes a little data about the differences:

    The broken disk:
