truecrypt can i resize a file container?

    Hi
    may i resize a file container?

    i mean i made a file container of 4Gb

    now it's narrow , my i increase/resize it @ 8gb

    Not that I know of.

    Just create a new 8GB.. or even better a 12GB so you have more future room to grow.

    but it's a huge limitation of true crypt
    hope new version will have this ability to enlarge file container size

    Part of the problem is enlarging the container itself is really the easy part. Expand the file, update the header, and its effectively done. The difficult part is resizing and existing filesystem. Not all filesystems can be dynamically resized by design. And some tools used to resize filesystems can't recognize truecrypt volumes (because they are software drives.)

    So its not a matter of TrueCrypt just programming in the ability to resize, but the filesystems used must be able. And to the average lay-person, they don't understand the difference so not incorporating the feature is significantly easier than trying to support it.

    yes i got it
    but at least truecrypt could resize/enlager the file container
