I'm in the process of encrypting my entire hard drive with Truecrypt and during this process, avast detected a rootkit which it said I should delete so I did. Avast then did a boot scan and my system turned out to be clean. Am I right in thinking that avast picked up on a false positive during the TC encryption process?

With Avast I'd double-check everything it flags. I finally found this software so useless I had to uninstall it. It never detects anything and when it does it's a FP.

I had a feeling that it found a false positive during the encryption process. I can't see it being a real rootkit that TC was putting on my system.
