WDormann - thanks for the related links.

Apart from the obvious frustration regarding the TI7 to TI8 I saw one thread which mentioned that TI has a problem with Dell desktops. I'm about to take delivery of a Dimension 4700. Can anyone advise what the problem is.

My needs are simple. I have two desktops, and a laptop.
I want to backup (preferably auto-schedule) the partitions on the laptop to one of the desktops, and backup up the desktop patitions from one machine to another. I'm not backing up to DVDs (although that might happen in the future).
I also use server operating systems for testing/developing - eg windows 2000 server, windows 2003 server, windows small business server - and I want to be able to take a full image of them to restore the base system when testing is finished.

Take all the frustration (and the business acumen of Acronis) out of the TI7vTI8 equation, in this forums opinion - with my requirements is TI8 a better option than Norton Ghost 9.0

    Regards,

    Jayeskay

Not sure what you're smoking but judging by your Signature, I'd keep off it if I were you ;)

Don't be too hard on wdormann as I rate him in the top 3 contributers to the Acronis TI Forum and no, he hasn't paid me to say that!!

    Regards
