I have been thinking of purchasing True Image, but I want to make sure it will support what I what to do. I have a Laptop with a 20 gig drive, one active partition. I want to clone the 20 gig drive to an 80 gig drive. The 80 gig drive is an external USB 2.0 drive. Will True Imge clone the 20 to the 80 gig USB drive.

    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi, jderr

Welcome to Wilders and Acronis Forums.

I see no reason why not, lot of people use a USB HDD for cloning and storing Images, here is a link to a question and answer on both cloning to a USB HDD and storing Images there also.

    Hello Jim,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

Yes, you are able to clone any hard disk to any other hard disk (internal or external doesn't matter) and the procedure is always the same. Please note that after you reboot your computer you shouldn't change anything in the computer because the actual cloning process is running after the reboot.

    Thank you.
