    Win XP - Nvidia 780i MB INtell Quad Q6600 chip.

    I'm only backing up 280G. I'm having issues latley with the backup taking extra long times. I usualy backup to a network drive on my LAN ( a buffalo linkstation).

    I'm just a small home setup and no other comptuers on the LAN, the lan is a gigabit connection.

    Today when my scheduled tasked started - it is telling me it needs 1 day 21 hours to consolidate the backup archive.

    I've been doing this for a few months now and somthing has changed as it was never this long. I was able to do full backup's in 2 hours before. Any suggestions on where to look?

    I have only been using this app for 7 days now so this might not be the answer but you might give it a try. In the Backup Wizard edit the task and open the Backup Method tab. I assume you are doing incremental backups. There is an option on that page that allows you to create a new complete backup after a set number of backups. Is that number realistic? I have mine set to 7 which would create a new backup weekly. There is also an option there to remove the old archives. Check it. My guess is that there will be a maximum of a full backup and 7 incremental backups created. Open the Automatic Consolidation tab and alter the parameters for consolidation so that they are higher than the number of backups between creation of a full backup. I set mine to 10 so I figure it will never have enough backups to consolidate.

    Hello pokerman11,

    Thank you for using Acronis True Image Home 2009

    First of all please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program 9709. Check it in Help -> About. You can always download the latest build of the program from your account under Registered Products.

    Make sure the user account on the NAS, under which you are trying to backup to it, belongs to the Administrator group. The Administrator group should also belong to READ/WRITE group. Set backup archive splitting to 2 Gb:

    1. Click "Tools" and select "Options";
    2. Click "Archive splitting" and set the size to 2 GB.

    Best regards,
