True Image 8 Locks Up

    I cannot get True Image 8 to make a backup. It locks up at first click in window where you select img filename (ie, beyond choosing what I want to back up). I have downloaded latest 8 from Acronis website. Any ideas?

    Try making the bootable Rescue CD, boot with it and use its Backup feature.

    Please download the latest version of Acronis drivers, install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.

    Could you please check the disks for errors using Windows checkdisk utility, Start -> Run, then enter the command "chkdsk c: /r" "chkdsk d: /r" for every partition of your hard drive.

    Please note that you will need to reboot your computer in order to scan the system partition.

    We also recommend you to download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home and check how the software works on your computer. The limitation of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home trial version is that you can only restore an image when you run the program from the bootable media. It is fully functional in Windows. The trial version evaluation period is 15 days.

    You can find the detailed instructions on how to use Acronis True Image 10.0 Home in the respective User's Guide.

    If the issue persists with the trial version of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home, please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post. Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.
