I hope you are not trying to install while downloading. Make sure you download the file first, and then run the downloaded file. Be sure to shut off your virus scanner before installing, and close any working programs.

    Good luck.

I did download the setup files and trying to install from there.

I even tried to install in safe mode but it can't install there.

I even went to msconfig and shut down all startup programs. Still no luck. I still get the install interruption message. I'm out of ideas.

What OS and service pack are you using?

What build of TI 2009 are you using?

I'm running Vista Ultimate sp2. I'm not sure of the build. It is a upgrade. I am currently running TI 10. I purchased the upgrade on line from Acronis and they sent the Key and a download button.

    HeyMudCrab,
I did go to your website and found something I have been looking for months. It is how to separate XP form Vista. I want to get rid of XP on this desktop and I think this is the way to do it. If I need Xp I have XP Media on the laptop.

Great article!! Now I have to print it off so I can read the instructions without the computer. It looks a little complicated and I can't remember that much. Easy BCD 1.7.5 installed. Will that make it easier?

    Thanks
    Chris

I thought of that but didn't want to do it because what I downloaded is an upgrade. But I will try try that anyway. Thanks for giving me cubage to do that. But if worse comes to worse I can reinstall TI 10. It works well but sowmwhate confusing at times I was hoping the new version was a little easier.

But TI 10 has saved my butt several times.

    Thanks

I'll let you all know what happens.

Well that didn't help. I dowloaded the un-install cleanup and ran it. Then rebooted and I still get the same message. I am about to ask for a refund. TI did work. And like I said it saved my bohimee more than once.

Since the company can't offer any help this download is worthless. I will reinstall TI 10 and leave it as that. This was a waist of money. I don' mind paying for something that works but not something that is a dud.

Thanks for your help. But I have put in too many hours trying to get this to install.

I forgot that I had updated to True Image 11 from 10 a while ago. Now I have to get it back.

    Hello glassdentist,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis True Image Home 2009

Try to download the installation file again and see if the issue persists. Try the following workarounds:

    - Try to disable any antivirus software and repeat installation.
    - Try to install as Administrator, right click on installation file -> Run As -> Administrator
    - Clean Temp folder (C:\Documents and Settings\[Account Name]\Local Settings \Temp
If the issue persists provide us the following diagnostic information:

    1.Launch the product installation file
2.Once the Acronis product installation screen appears, right-click on the name of the component that fails to install. You should see two options there: Install and Extract. Select Extract
3.Select the path for extracting the component and click Save
4.Go to the Run prompt (Start -> Run) and issue the following command: msiexec /i path&msi-name /l*v log-name.log, where path&msi-name is the name and path of the file you extracted in steps 2-3 and log-name.log is the path and the name to the log file you want to save the output to. For example, msiexec /i D:\AcronisFolder\AcronisTrueImage /l*v D:\log-name.log
5.Reproduce the problem and send us the log file created during the installation (it will be created on D partition).

    Best regards,
