TrojanHunter 6.0 has been released. The program is now freeware with a Premium version available with extra features. The standard version is not limited in any way and removes all found malware. This version features many engine enhancements and a brand new, much easier-to-use user interface.

    • Trojans, malware and spyware can steal your private data and compromise your security
    • Protect yourself with TrojanHunter®[/B]
    • TrojanHunter is an advanced malware scanner that detects all sorts of malware such as trojans, spyware, adware and dialers.

Just some of the features are:
    • Excellent detection rate
    • High-speed file scan engine[/B] capable of detecting modified trojans
    • Memory scanning for detecting any modified variant of a particular build of a trojan
    • Registry scanning for detecting traces of trojans in the registry
    • Inifile scanning for detecting traces of trojans in configuration files
    • Port scanning for detecting open trojan ports
    • The Advanced Trojan Analyzer[/B], an exclusive feature of TrojanHunter, is able to find whole classes of trojans using advanced scanning techniques
    • TrojanHunter Guard for resident memory scanning - detect any trojans if they manage to start up
    • LiveUpdate utility for effortless ruleset updating via the Internet
    • Process list giving details about every running process on the system, including the path to the actual executable file
    • Accurate removal of all detected trojans - even if they are running or if the trojan has injected itself into another process
    • Built-in netstat viewer
    • Extensive help files
    • Free technical support via e-mail

This is NOT freeware. Nowhere on their site is a free version available. OP why say it's freeware?

Simply not true. The version on the site is free and you have the option to upgrade to a premium version with extra features if you wish. The feature comparison is available in the program.

I downloaded this program recently to see if it would find anything...It seems it has found FP's.

So why are the only two mentions of the word free on their website "Download Free Trial" & "Free technical support via e-mail"?

I downloaded and installed v 6 and started scanning. But, after two hours I gave up and shut it down. Very, very slow scanning. Win 7 Pro 64b. Anyone similar impression?

It's never been a fast scan. The full scan takes hours. If you have a million or so files to scan it will be at least eight hours. The brief scan is very fast.

The fast scan option was removed in version 6, but will be back in the premium (paid) version. See their forum. I have used TH for years, v 5.6 and earlier in Win 2000, but not in Win 7. They now have a new company, Bytelayer AB in Sweden. Nothing much yet on the home page.

No longer free. After a looong scan found some malware (most likely FP), but didn't let me remove/quarantine unless I buy it.
