Trojan Horse Startpage.7.X

help, this has been detected on my PC but by AVG not TDS-3, but it's imbedded, and I cannot remove it

Try scanning/cleaning in Safemode .

I currently use Win XP 'professional' but I can't find a safe mode, I know what u mean. But can't seem to see the option to restart in safe mode.

What would that enabvle me to do anyway ?

Hi there!
normally at reboot click the F8 several times which should reboot you in safe mode.

When you scan with TDS, please close AVG completely with the resident protection too, to give TDS full access to all files. (Open the AVG GUI, uncheck all options, the systray icon should grey out, close AVG GUI)

It's very strange TDS doesn't actually recognise it !

But AVG 7.0 does find the trojan in TWO locations and says that they are infected and embedded......... That last bit, scared me !

...and I felt like crying.........?
