Re:Why is "Trial version of Process guard 1.3 and Bitguard firewall" OFFLINE?

comes back to no software can make you impervious if you make a mistake and allow something you should not or am I missing something?

also the concept of layered defense is critical.

better to have PG layer than not if you plan to run with the big dogs ;)

snipe away - or view it as written just an opinion

    You got it ;)

You can have all security software of the world, if you allow something to run or here in our case to install driver, you can be totally owned ;)

But BitGuard is a trusted security product so there is no pb i think.

I went to thier web site and it is 199 for one year and 499 for three years. That is what I call steep.

    Thats what we saw too..

As for dangers.. you ALLOWED the software to install a driver, it is trusted. You also installed it BEFORE PG which means hooking and rehooking can occur. To make things very blunt, if you installed PG first and we put a kill function in it then IT could kill BitGuard. Its just most likely rehooking whereby one driver is below the other in a sense. Whichever you use, PG is completely different to a firewall and protects your processes much differently. Trusted processes cannot be attacked by others, whether a dropper runs 2 files or 20 none can do what they need to do to be stealthy. And you dont have to allow every program you want to run. You can run them knowing that if they are any of the current trojan tech - either injection or rootkit style, they will be blocked. Of course this does not mean run anything since a virus is still a virus and other methods of trojaning are still used.

And of course, if the above is correct you can do this much more affordably than spending $199 on just a firewall :)

    Gentlemen,

I said this before and I say it again *sighs*
The reseller home page is a mess WHich makes me as a tester for Bitguard sad :(

There documentation is wrong and there prices for some reasons outside DK show up wrongly as well.

Please note it is 59 dollars for 3 years and not the price you are saying here.

Well since these are two completely different applications I don't see the relevance? :)

Please keep on topic. The cost of BitGuard is not relevant to this thread.

    Thank You

Sorry guys, it wasn't so much the cost but rather the resellers site was all messed up. When you clicked on the order link for bitguard, you were taken to the order page for Panda AV. I think that is why the Price and buy link posts ;)

    thanks
