    I've been observing this phenomenon for a while.
    Definitely happened before [didn't write down the exact app version], like in December.
    It's happening on my friend's Dell, win7 x64
    And happened again today on my win7 x64

    the autostart tray icon is not there

    the app iteslf is running as always, but in order to use it I need to resort to the manual thing - menu start -> returnil and now I can do whatever I want

    anyone also experiencing this?

    ATM I'm not running the newest version, but the previous one.

    Hi korben,
    Please upgrade to the latest version and try to reproduce the issue. If you can reproduce, please open a new ticket with the usual log files:

    * C:\Windows\rvs3.log
    * C:\Windows\rvs3-inst.log
    * MSINFO32 report

    Thanks
    Mike

    Hey, Mike
    Will do that for sure. I think tomorrow is a good time to administer this.

    Just started my machine - the icon is there and is smiling at me so I don't know what's going on but we can figure it out in the future :)

    Navaer again did I experience such a thingie.
    And that's nice.

    But for the last couple of days I noticed that soon after the bootup the icon is neither green nor red yet whitish so to speak

    Any reason for that occurance?

    Yesterday I decided to restore the image of my system and now am running the latest version of R. So far - perfect.

    still curious...about that^

    Try the next build that should be available this week and let me know if the issue persists.

    Now using the latest build.
    Observations:
    the icon bocomes white on bootup and stays white for like 1 second -> goes green
    On the plus side the transition from green to red status [activation] seems much faster that when I was using the previous build.
