You'll find all you need to know on -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie

Specifically see these secitions - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie#Privacy_and_third-party_cookies and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie#Third-party_cookies - although you should read the entire writeup.

You'll need to configure your browser to block third party cookies ... you'll find instructions on this page - http://www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/main-nf.htm

Here's a link to the An Introduction to Web Browser Privacy & Security Guide: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/btw/browser-sec-intro.htm

Or here are direct links to these three browsers:

    Internet Explorer: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/btw/ie/ie-opts.htm
    Firefox: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/btw/ffox/ffox-opts.htm
