    I just run into problems with TIH 10 after installing the latest Microsoft security updates for XP and Office. I get messages that TIH processes have encoutered problems and must close. If I start these processes manually I try to back up my documents, the XP crashes. I reinstalled the TIH 10 but this did not help. I tried TIH 2009, but I get the same message about the processes having to close. I do not see any other reports of problems with the recent MS update. Has anyone else experienced these problems?

    Hi,

    to exclude physical problems:

    Run "chkdsk x: /R /F" for all partiotions you want to backup.
    ("x" is your device letter).

    Maybe the $MS-december-update has nothing to do with your problems.
    But:
    If the error persists after chkdsk, please post a picture here about the message.

    You don't need the /F with the /R, /R does the same as /F before it does the sector read check.

    MrMorse - seekforever is correct. Note that in the image, switch /r makes the statement implies /f. Thought you might like to see the available switches.

    Hello all,

    Thank you for using Acronis True Image

    blazen08, if you still experience the issue, please collect the following information:

    1. - Press the Start button, choose Run, type "drwtsn32" and hit Enter;
    - In the dialog that appears check the "Log File" and "Crash Dump" paths, then click the OK button;
    - Reproduce the problem;
    - Pick up the user.dmp and drwtsn32.log files in the directory specified at step 2.

    2. - Open Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information;
    - Choose the "Save" option in the "File" menu (or "Action" menu under Windows 2000), enter the "File name" and set the field "Save as type" to "System Information File (*.NFO)";

    Contact our Live Chat service here and have the collected files at hand.

    Thank you.
