TI8 Server boot cd hangs on ICP Vortex RAID

Hello,

boot process hangs with error message:

'initial ram disk can't be loaded'. Press <Enter> to resume ... (german: Inital Ramdisk kann nicht geladen werden. <Enter> drücken, um fortzusetzen ...).

One has to reset the machine.

Details as follows:

- TrueImage 8 Server for Windows
- SCSI RAID Controller: Rev. ICP Vortex GDT6127RP / GDT6113RS
- Boot CD created with latest Build (04/11/2005)

- 'acpi=off noapic' workaround does'nt work
- no # prompt is shown to create 'sysinfo.txt'

- booting machine without ICP Vortex RAID Controller: no problem

got any ideas?

We also strongly recommend you to update your copy of Acronis True Image Server for Windows 8.0 to
the 826 build. In order to get access to
updates you should register account on our site (or just log in if you
have already created it) and then register your copy of the product.

Then please create a new bootable CD and try to boot from it. If the problem persists please try to create the sysinfo.txt and send it to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will certainly help you with the solution.

thanks for your answer.

But: we *did* choose the latest build yet (826 date 04/11/2005)
And: we have *no* chance to create 'sysinfo.txt', whether we edit boot options or not, 'cause the boot process hangs immediately and *no* prompt is shown.

Hello doc.hardware,

Please boot from Acronis Bootable CD once again, enter "Linux Kernel Settings" and remove the word "quiet". After that please write down the output you see on the screen or use digital camera to take photos of the output. Once it is done please send this info to support@acronis.com and we will investigate the problem.

the problem remains the same like we describe in the first posting:
boot process hangs with error message:
'initial ram disk can't be loaded'. Press <Enter> to resume ...
an then we have to reboot.
all switches like no -quiet -noapic doesnt work.
