    Hi Guys,

    Tried to do a full/Incremental backup on a XP machine with the error E00070021.

    Ran a chkdsk with no problems reported. Used msconfig to disable all 3rd party startup items and services, same error. Convert HDD to NTFS, same problem.

    Tried on 3 other Xp clients with no problems. The HDD of the problem is relatively new and is recently reinstalled. It contains roughly the same programs as the 3 Xp clients which is able to do the backup. However we are able to create a backup by using the bootup CD.

    Pls advice. Thanks

    Mel

    Hello melvinho,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Workstation Disk Backup Software.

    Please accept my apologies for the delay with the response.

    First of all, please go to Start -> Run and then enter the command "chkdsk c: /r" "chkdsk d: /r" for every partition of your hard drive. Note that you will need to reboot your computer in order to scan the system partition.

    Please also download the latest version of Acronis drivers, install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.

    If the problem still persists then enable logging by running the Acronis drivers installation package once again, reproduce the problem and collect the c:\snapapi.log file.

    Please also provide us with the following information:

    - Create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post;

    - Make a screen shot or provide the exact text of the error message you have received;

    - When exactly have you received this error message?

    - Describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.

    Could you please also make a screen shot of the Device Tree application?

    - Download and unpack the Device Tree application;

    - Run the application;

    - Completely unfold the \Driver\Disk and \Driver\FtDisk branches;

    - Move the margin to the left in order to see all the items;

    - Make a screen shot;

    Note that the application may crash the system when you exit, so we recommend you to save all your work and close other programs prior to running it.

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
