TI 11 - What are these temp folders doing in my backup?

    Guys,

a fast question regarding acronis true image 11.

Ive been doing auto differential backups for a while now, and the backup files seem to be working just fine.

But there are folders being created by Acronis, on different dates than the backups. You can see that the orig bu image was on July 29.

These seem to be temp folders, but can I safely delete them and not affect the differential files? Some of the folders are quite large, and seem to be taking up unnecessary space in the external drive, so Id like to trash them if at all possible.

Note that the structure shows several files deleted....thats ok, since I did clean house a while ago by taking out differentials that had been superceeded but didnt know if it was safe to delete these odd-dated folders.

    Image shows file structure.

C'mon, troops, someone has got to have some ideas as to why these folders are appearing.

Is Acronis tech support lurking around? Seems like its only you guys that may have an answer.

Is the image location that you use an TI backup location, or one you made yourself?

This isn't something that's ever shown up before with any editions of ATI going back to ver 7, afaicr -- so that might be why no one is responding right away to your poser. I think a good place to look would be for something other than ATI or else if you are specifying target names in a way other than prescribed in the user guide.

If nothing obvious ocmes up that way; then just uninstalling and reinstalling and setting up some backup tasks jsut the way the user guide prescribes. If that works, then try something fancier if you have to.

Whenever you create an initial image, you have to select a place to put it. So I guess I did tell it to do so when I created the initial directory structure in the external drive.

Ive got nothing else to validate it against. So I guess that its OK to presume that the temp folders are exactly that....just temp folders.

Ill try to reinstall and see what I get after a few weeks of diff backups. Ill be back.

    Hello wmgoat,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

I can suggest you to re-create the task. Also, you should check the following directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts

Before you create a new task please delete all .tib.tis files that are present there.

    Thank you.
